Metabolic Syndrome

Research Supports Healthy Lifestyle Habits

The Archives of Internal Medicine performed the EPIC study1 and found significant improvements in health by making simple lifestyle choices including:

  • Not Smoking
  • 3.5 Hours of Exercise Per Week
  • BMI Under 30
  • Eating a Healthy Diet fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and limited amounts of meat

Out of 23,000 participants they discovered the following outcomes:

  • 93% of Diabetes Prevented
  • 81% of Heart Attacks Prevented
  • 50% of Strokes Prevented
  • 36% of All Cancers Prevented

We focus on teaching patients a chiropractic lifestyle that is in alignment with the EPIC Study.  At Family Wellness at Teravista, we practice what we preach and are trained to examine you for Metabolic Syndrome to determine the best course of co-managed care with your primary care physician.
